Help take the Chattanooga area
to greater heights.

Georgia Tech is less than two hours away, and for a century students from schools across our region have made the trip. The return on that investment has been unquestionable: a kid from Cleveland, Tennessee became the first Bobby Jones Scholar; a Chattanooga engineer came home from Tech and founded Astec; Tech graduates helped build our carpet industry and this mountain, and thousands more work across this region today. Georgia Tech is the #1 Best Value Public College in America (The Princeton Review), so every dollar this community puts behind a student goes further than almost anywhere else. The next one is in a Chattanooga-area classroom right now, and cost should never be the reason they turn it down. We want to maximize that investment in the future of our region.

The mountain

Georgia Tech helped build this mountain.

The development team, the building team, leadership within the community, and many more: Georgia Tech graduates were among them. Georgia Tech’s School of Building Construction named Cloudland its Building Construction Project of the Year. It is appropriate that the Club plays here.

A word of thanks

To everyone who built this, and everyone who shows up.

This tournament has been played for a generation because people showed up: the club members who ran it, the sponsors who funded it, McLemore, and every foursome that drove up the mountain. If you are one of them, thank you. If this is your first year, welcome. Somewhere in a Chattanooga-area classroom there is a student who will never know your name and will owe you their start. That is the whole point.

Where the money goes

Somewhere in Chattanooga there's a kid who belongs at Georgia Tech.

Every year, students from the Chattanooga area earn a place at Georgia Tech. Some of them turn it down. Not because they want to, but because another school offered more financial help up front, and the short-term number won. We play this tournament so the long-term investment wins over the short-term cost. The cost of one scholarship is small next to what one Georgia Tech graduate gives back to this region over a career. When one of our own gets in, we want them to know the whole community is behind them, and we want the choice to be theirs.
